Even if beaches and transparent sea are the island's strong points, Sardinia is also a region of strong traditions, folklore and enogastronomy. With its cheeses, roasted meat, fresh fish and full-bodied wines, above all the famous Cannonau, Sardinia surprises visitors with its local festivals and its hinterland, ideal for trekking, mountain biking and canoeing. Thanks to its mountains, Sardinia is also a good choice for climbing and paragliding enthusiasts, and off course a hotspot for sailing, kitesurfing and windsurfing along the coasts.
